durante los Festivales de Isis

En 1936, durante el Congreso Numismático de Londres, András Alföldi presentó su tesis doctoral: "A Festival of Isis in Rome under the Christian Emperors of the IVth Century",
que fue publicada inmediatamente, en 1937. Obra de referencia obligada, su "Preliminary
Catalogue" (como él mismo lo tituló) aún no ha sido superado, nadie ha
intentado complementarlo con las nuevas fichas que han ido apareciendo en
estos casi 80 ańos.
Nosotros, que estamos "online" desde 2014, hemos tratado de poner al día estas interesantes acuńaciones
con este catálogo visual, incorporando nuevas piezas "inéditas" y ordenando
algunas fichas que Alföldi mostraba prácticamente repetidas.
Alföldi elaboró su catálogo en dos partes: A) "Coins with Imperial bust" y
B) "The Anonymous coinage", identificando 400 emisiones. En el apartado A)
incluyó 18 emperadores entre Diocleciano y Valentiniano II y en el B)
diferenció 21 grupos de bustos anónimos.
Nosotros hemos identificado menos emisiones, exactamente 324, distribuidas en 40 tipos de reversos.
Incluimos en ellas también 18 emisores imperiales, si bien hemos quitado a Galerio
Maximiano y ańadido Decencio.
Más de 80 ańos después, tan solo hemos encontrado 16 nuevas emisiones
imperiales y 22 anónimas, fichas que por su rareza e importancia vamos a
mostrar continuación. Entre ellas, hay piezas verdaderamente inéditas,
